SENIOR DESIGN MANAGER (ARCHITECTURE)– HOTEL/CASINO GROUP – MACAU

MOP80-90k pm plus housing allowance plus bonus

Our client, an international hotel/Casino group currently has an opening for a Senior Architectural Design Manager to oversee capital improvement works at their properties in Macau.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Design Manager is in charge of the design effort and directs design activities for their responsible projects. These activities include all design phases with the relevant design team members (internal & external), constructability review (coordination with Project Manager); budget (coordinate with commercial team), and the specific project design intent.

Essential Duties

Brief Stage

Assist Director, Architectural Design on Architectural and building services related matters. (As-built’s, GFA, and the like)

Procurement

Assist in preparing the scope of service documents / deliverables.

Concept Design (Arch, Struct, MEP, ELV, Fire Safety, etc.)

Secondary lead to support/assist the Interior Design Team on Architectural and building services related matters, such as space planning, architectural design, building and fire code issues or implications and other technical issues on all projects

Coordinate the Design programme, design and progress schedules with the Design Delivery Team.

Coordinate and review the investigation of the site to determine as builts are correct and the preparation of background design docs to take account existing conditions.

Schematic Design (Arch, Struct, MEP, ELV, Fire Safety, etc.)

Secondary lead to support/assist the Interior Design Team on Architectural and building services related matters, such as space planning, architectural design, building and fire code issues or implications and other technical issues on all projects in relation to the preparation of the schematic design documents.

Coordinate the Design programme, design and progress schedules with the Design Delivery Team.

Review and approval of the schematic design documents.

Coordinate with the PM & Commercial to develop the budget.

Design Development (Arch, Struct, MEP, ELV, Fire Safety, etc.)

Secondary lead to support/assist the Interior Design Team on Architectural and building services related matters

Coordinate the Design programme, design and progress schedules with the Design Delivery Team.

Reviews and approves all architectural and building services related matters.

Coordinates, review, and approves the design development deliverables such as space planning, architectural design, building and fire code issues or implications and other technical issues on specific projects are complete. (i.e. Plans, sections, elevations, typical details, specifications and other documents which fix and describe the expected final size and character of a Project, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical systems and materials and all other elements necessary to describe the Project.)

Post Design Development (Interior Design)

Secondary lead and coordinate with Interior Design team (Internal & External) and Design Delivery Team to ensure that a handover workshop from Interior Design to Design Delivery Team is completed.

Construction Document (Arch, Struct, MEP, ELV, Fire Safety, etc.)

Primary Lead to reviews and approve the comprehensively integrated and coherent sets of Construction Documents for purposes of construction which either physically incorporate or incorporate by reference all drawings and specifications.

Coordinate the Design programme, design and progress schedules with the Design Delivery Team.

Tender Stage

Primary Lead and coordinates the Design Delivery Team. Coordinate with Interior Design Team when and as required.

Coordinates and reviews the technical queries from Contractor tender returns and during tendering period.

Coordinates the technical review on Contractor’s appointment to support the tender evaluation and recommendation.

Statutory

Primary Lead and coordinates the Design Delivery Team.

Coordinates, review, and approves the design documents that are required for CRA Submission.

Coordinates, review, and approves that the CRA and local code compliance issues are resolved.

Construction Administration

Primary Lead and coordinates the Design Delivery Team. Coordinate with Interior Design Team when and as required.

Coordinates and oversee consultants’ technical review on Contractors’ submissions, including material/sample submissions, method statements, shop drawings, etc.

Coordinates all construction document related input / support to the delivery team and trade contractors.

Coordinates, drive and oversee design and technical resolution to site queries / issues over the duration of Construction Period.

Provide periodic inspections on site as and when required by the SPM team. Assistance to the SPM /CM team advising on the quality and completeness of works from a design and technical standpoint during quality check of site works.

Attend weekly meetings as necessary and attend to regular site visits to ensure appropriate quality of the works and that design intent is maintained.

Oversee all design execution of all statutory inspections to ensure statutory clearance / associated occupancy permits are being ascertained in a timely manner.
